The compound of Rn with phenol is isomorphous with that of SO2 with phenol. At 15°, the distribution constant of radon between the gas phase and the crystals of the SO2 compound is 0.24. For the compound of H2S with phenol, that is 1.24. Consequently, radon forms of a phenol compound that is more stable than that of H2S and less stable than that of SO2. The value of the dissociation pressure of the radon compound must lie between the values for the dissociation pressures of these latter compounds.

It is shown that the compounds of H2S, SO2, and HCl with phenol have the formula 1 M: 3C6H5OH. The isomorphism of these compounds with compounds formed between the inert gases and phenol and the closeness of their heats of formations show that their formulas are analogous and that the same type of chemical bond is present.
