Abstract

Remote sensing by ocean acoustics can hardly make use of spectrum analysis methods and must rely almost exclusively on the analysis of geometrical structure and motion. The problems of the environmental dependence of detection conditions in the sea and the state of development of their prediction are described. Resolution methods for direction, frequency and propagation time and their application in the remote sensing of properties of the sea surface, volume and sea bottom are discussed.
