Summary
Adhesion of four methanogenic bacteria on polymeric surfaces with different hydrophobicities was investigated using an adhesion test performed under anaerobic conditions.Methanosarcina mazei MC3 did not adhere to any support.Methanothrix soehngenii adhered preferentially to hydrophobic polymers whileMethanospirillum hungatei JF1 prefered hydrophilic surfaces andMethanobrevibacter arboriphilicus AZ adhered more or less to all the supports.
