Summary
Granulopoietic progenitor cells (CFU-C) from beagle bone marrow and blood were compared by velocity sedimentation separation. Blood CFU-C are significantly smaller than their bone marrow counterparts. Mobilization by dextran sulfate leads to release of only small CFU-C, indicating the existence of a pool of CFU-C which are ready to enter the peripheral circulation.
