Abstract
The absence or occurrence of C-glycolsylflavonoids in theAizoaceae andMolluginaceae, respectively, has been utilized to classify several controversial genera of centrospermous plants that have previously been placed in different families by systematists. The presence of these compounds in several further species of theMolluginaceae is reported. Their anomalous presence inGliscrothamnus (Aizoaceae) is discussed.
