1.
The polymerization of 1-vinyl-2,2,3,3-tetrafluorocyclobutane oxide in the presence of cationic catalysts (BF3 etherates, FeCl3, Al2(SO4)3·3H2SO4·7H2O, SnCl4, or Al(C2H5)3+H2O) has been studied for the first time; high molecular weight polymers can be prepared when Al2(SO4)3·3H2SO4·7H2O, SnCl4, or Al(C2H5)3 +H2O is used.

2.
The high molecular polymers of 1-vinyl-2, 2, 3,3-tetrafluorocyclobutane oxide prepared under the consitions indicated are amorphous and rubber-like materials with relatively high thermooxidative stability.
