Abstract
The test compoundK-2004, a non-teratogenic congener of thalidomide, is quickly absorbed in the rat after oral application and, like thalidomide, degraded hydrolytically. Three metabolites appearing in the urine have been identified. The absence of teratogenicity ofK-2004 is not due to a different metabolism but probably to an altered reactivity towards a recently proposed specific receptor.
