Abstract
Reduction of the trichloride with lithium metal/naphthalene in tetrahydrofurane (THF) gives NdCl2·2THF with loosely boundTHF which is very soluble in this solvent. Formation of an easily soluble compound from NdCl3 and LiCl inTHF solution was also detected.
