A systematic procedure for indexing X-Ray powder patterns of superstructure phases

Abstract

The described procedure is based on the choice of a basic unit cell. The parameters of this unit cell are variably combined in all three dimensions and X-ray powder patterns of the resulting superstructures are determinated. The correct superstructure unit cell is found by comparison of calculated and observed reflections.
