Abstract
Compressibility of the adsorbate has been taken into account in calculating the maximum adsorption in micropores. On this basis, an equation has been derived for improvement of the theory of three-dimensional filling of micropores in application to the calculation of micropore volume by the Dubinin-Radushkevich equation. Evaluations for the case of benzene adsorption on activated carbons at ∼20°C have shown that the accounting for adsorbate compressibility leads to corrections of the Dubinin-Radushkevich theory amounting to approximately 10%.
