Conclusions
-
1.
Phenol is formed as a secondary reaction product in the ozonolysis of benzene.
-
2.
The rate constant for the reaction of ozone with benzene and the effective rate constant for the accumulation of phenol during the ozonolysis of benzene in the absence of a solvent were measured.
