Abstract

Disasters of geological nature, caused by the 1920 Haiyuan earthquake (Ms = 8.5), were studied in hilly loess areas. Dynamic characteristics of loess landslides of seismic origin and an approach for predicting landslide in loess are presented. Subsidence of seismic origin in loess is described.
