Conclusions
A study was made of alloys of the system titanium-palladium covering the whole range of concentrations, and a phase diagram of the system has been constructed. It was established that titanium and palladium form intermediate phases based on the compounds Ti4Pd, Ti2Pd, TiPd, Ti2Pd3, TiPd2, and TiPd3.
It was found that, contrary to some published data, the Ti4Pd phase forms at ∼600°C; the Ti2Pd phase appears as a result of ordering of theβ solid solution; the TiPd phase melts congruently at 1400°C; the TiPd2 phase is formed by a peritectic reaction at 1400°C.
