  • Published:
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A study was made of the sintering of loosely poured titanium carbide and zirconium carbide powders in the temperature range 1400–2100°C. The linear rate of particle growth was determined for these powders at various temperatures.

  2. 2.

The enegry of activator for the sintering process was found to be 58 ± 1.5 kcal/mole for TiC and 63 ± 1 kcal/mole for ZrC.
