Der soziale Status der Eltern und die Apgarnote des Kindes

Summary

With a standard questionaire 6151 lying-in patients in the department of obstetrics and gynecology of Erlangen University were asked about their social background. The apgar score of their babies was noted.

It was demonstrated that the occupation of the parents and the educational background of the mother influenced the apgar score.

It is concluded that these social factors have no direct bearing on the apgar score, but that an indirect connection exists between occupation and education on the one hand and consciousness of the advantages of prenatal care on the other, whereby the apgar score is raised.

Zusammenfassung

Nach einem standardisierten Fragebogen wurden 6151 Wöchnerinnen der Universitäts-Frauenklinik Erlangen über ihre sozialen Verhältnisse befragt. Von den Neugeborenen wurden die Apgarnoten dokumentiert.

Es zeigte sich, daß die Berufe der Eheleute und die Schulbildung der Frau einen Einfluß auf die Apgarnoten hatten. Die Hypothese wird aufgestellt, daß die erwähnten sozialen Merkmale nicht direkt auf den Zustand des Kindes Einfluß nehmen, sondern daß indirekt eine Beziehung besteht zwischen Beruf und Bildung einerseits sowie Informiertsein über den Vorteil der Schwangerschaftsvorsorge andererseits, wodurch wiederum bessere Apgarnoten zustande kommen.
