Abstract

A time dependent probabilistic model for the description of photon diffusion in infinite cylindrical shell media has been proposed. Four basic probability functions are defined and an integro-differential equation for the scattering function is derived. The expressions for the emergent intensities expressed in terms of the scattering, transmission, back scattering, and back transmission functions are obtained for two special cases.
