Summary
Studies were made of the nucleic acid metabolism of kidney cells (Cercopithecus) infected with the SV-40 virus. Forty to fifty hours after the infection the cells autoradiographically showed a depressed uptake of H3-thymidine. The behavior of the cellular DNA after the infection was tested and found to be reduced. The increase in the synthesis of RNA in the infected cells is discussed in connection with the formation of tumor antigen.
