Summary
In 3 out of 167 human jaws which were cut in serial sections a supernumerary tooth germ was found.
The first case is a supernumerary incisor germ in the maxillary jaw in a human foetus of the 8th month. The second case is a supernumerary incisor germ in the maxillary jaw in a foetus of the 3rd month. The third case is a supernumerary tooth germ between the first and second deciduous molars in the maxillary jaw in a foetus of the 5th month. The supernumerary tooth germs belong to the first dentition, and their possible significance is discussed.
