Abstract
By measuring the partition coefficients for various ions, it was found that the selectivity of superficially sulphonated exchange resins is similar to that of completely sulphonated common exchange resins (e.g. Dowex-50). This result is not in accordance with the theory of Gregor but it can be interpreted by the molecular theory of Rice and Harris.
Zusammenfassung
Durch Messung der Verteilungskoeffizienten wird festgestellt, daß oberflächlich sulfonierte Harzaustauscher etwa die gleiche Selektivität besitzen wie handelsübliche Harzaustauscher (z.B. Dowex-50), die vollständig sulfoniert sind. Dieser Befund steht nicht im Einklang mit der Gregorschen Theorie, läßt sich aber mit der molekularen Theorie von Rice und Harris verständlich machen.
