Summary
The preparation of solutions for steel analysis by ICP spectrometry is performed by electrolysis in HCl. Numerous elements (as Al, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Co) can be determined in unalloyed and low-alloy steel with C-contents of less than 0.3%.
