Vergleich histologischer Untersuchungsergebnisse bei vorbestrahlten supraglottischen und glottischen Kehlkopfkarzinomen

Summary

Sixty-eight larynges with carcinoma were investigated by coronal section method including 21 preoperativ irradiated carcinomas of vocal cord and the subglottic space, 21 preoperative irradiated supraglottic, and 9 preoperative irradiated carcinomas of the hypopharynx.

The histological examination showed, that 60% of the larynx-carcinomas irradiated by 3000 rad have been destroyed in its peripheral area. In these cases the base of tumour almost was inhibited in mitotic activity only. No evident effect or a diffused destruction by irradiation was observed on sqamous carcinomas, which have developed in a more solid form or with a papillary growth or in a small cellular pattern. Differences of irradiation effects or of the design of destruction by irradiation could'nt be found in the different areas of larynx by this histological investigation.
