Abstract
The decrease of the insert volume of high concentrated sample solutions extends the function time of laminar burners. But those small sample quantities pass the absorption zone within a period of time which is below the constant rise time of the indicating system. That means that the signals are not only dependent on the concentration, but also on the volume of the sample solution. Therefore it must be kept completely constant. The damping of the instrument must also be adjusted to it. The measurement of small quantities of sample volumes is possible because the decrease of the volume from about 500 μl to about 25 μl has the consequence of increasing the absolute sensitivity to its threefold value.
