Summary
In rats with normal blood pressure, during stepwise bleeding, and stepwise reinfusion, the activity of Kr-85 on the liver surface was measured after intraportal injection of saline containing the isotope. In rats with normal and diminished blood pressure the activity curves of the liver surface after intraportal injection of Kr-85 showed a decline following an exponential function. According to the evaluation of Ingvar and Lassen (1962) 50 measurements of the regional liver blood flow in 15 rats showed a blood flow with a mean value of 1,4±0,54 ml/g×min and according to Zierler (1965) 0,95±0,32 ml/g×min. Measurements in the same animal were well to reproduce. The relatively low values according to Zierler (1965) possibly arise because the activity of the whole organ was not measured. The pressure-flow relationship runs in nearly linear way as well during bleeding as after reinfusion. Below arterial pressures of about 60 mm Hg or portal pressures of about 5 mm Hg the resistance increases at a high rate. It is to be supposed that under these values the critical pressure for opening the sinusoids is not reached.
