Zusammenfassung
Urnatella gracilis ist eine dioecische Form mit stark abgewandelter Brutpflege und verminderter sexueller Fortpflanzung.
Simultan reift in den Ovarien nur jeweils eine Eizelle, vermutlich auf beiden Seiten alternierend.
Die Larve wächst innerhalb des Ovars heran.
Es wird eine genaue Beschreibung der Larve von Urnatella gracilis gegeben.
Summary
Urnatella gracilis is shown to be a dioecious form having in adaptation to the life in fresh water a strongly reduced sexual reproduction.
In contrast to the other colonial Entoprocta in Urnatella, eventually alternating from one side to the other, a single egg only is found to ripe in an ovary at a time.
The embryonal and larval development proceeds in difference to the other Kamptozoa inside the ovary.
