Summary

The group of whorl forming streptomycetes is discussed. The distinction between verticillate, pseudoverticillate and umbellate branching is emphasized. The following verticillate species can be separated: Streptomyces cinnamomeus, Str. griseocarneus, Str. netropsis and Str. reticuli.
