Abstract
One specimen of the tropical sea urchin Tripneustes gratila, distributed along the rocky subtide of Eilat, Israel, was found to be hermaphroditic, producing fertile sperm and eggs. In this case, internal self-fertilization, producing embryos along the gonads, was also observed.
