Summary
A case of divergence paralysis associated with diazepam ingestion is reported. The cerebrospinal fluid findings and the computed tomographic scan of the brain were unremarkable. The time of ingestion of diazepam and the occurrence of diplopia were so closely related that it is likely that diazepam caused the divergence paralysis an association which is thought not to have been reported previously.
