The nontraumatic supinator syndrome of the radial nerve and its delineation to the cervical radicular syndrome

Summary

2 cases of dissociated paresis of the radial nerve are described, in which pain and sensory disturbances suggested an irritation or lesion of cervical nerve roots. However, the correlation of clinical findings with electromyography clearly revealed a dissociated paresis of the forearm muscles supplied by the radial nerve. In both cases a compression of the ramus profundus of the radial nerve in the proximal third of the forearm due to a lipoma and to subluxation of the capitulum radii, respectively, was verified on surgery.
