Die amnestische Aphasie

Summary

The language behavior of patients with amnesic aphasia is described in detail, and the delineation from other types of language disorder in organic brain disease is discussed. The main feature of amnesic aphasia is not so much seen in difficulties in word finding but rather in substitution strategies by means of which the patient tries to convey his communicative intention. After a discussion of some older neurological models for the description of amnesic aphasia, a linguistic explanation is proposed in the framework of generative grammar. It is suggested that lexical disturbances lead to a slight impairment in the discrimination of the meaning between related words and to a disruption of the pairing of the phonological and semantic information of individual words, assuming that the phonological and semantic information itself is intact.

Zusammenfassung

In dieser Arbeit wird das Sprachverhalten von Patienten mit amnestischer Aphasie ausführlich beschrieben, durch Beispiele erläutert und differentialdiagnostisch abgegrenzt. Das wesentliche Merkmal ist nicht das negative Symptom der Wortfindungsstörung, sondern sind Ersatzstrategien, mit denen der Patient seine Kommunikationsabsicht zu verwirklichen sucht. Nach einer Diskussion neurologischer Beschreibungsmodelle wird eine linguistische Erklärung im Modell der generativen Grammatik vorgeschlagen. Dabei liegen lexikalische Störungen in der engeren Bedeutungsdifferenzierung zwischen Wörtern und in der Koppelung zwischen semantischer und phonologischer Information einzelner Wörter vor. Wir nehmen eine Koppelungsstörung an, weil die phonologische und semantische Information selbst intakt sind.
