Summary
The reaction of alkaline kidney phosphatase in female rats is examined under varied conditions.
-
1.
Testosterone in physiological dose does not essentially alter the intensity and the distribution of alkaline phosphatase.
-
2.
On the other hand the intensity of enzyme activity is significantly diminished by ovarectomy.
-
3.
This aftereffect of ovarectomy cannot be strengthened by supplying testosterone in addition.
-
4.
Variations of intensity of acid phosphatase under the same conditions could not be observed.
-
5.
The findings were discussed in connection with the results mentioned previously.
