Summary

The 5-HT content of the brain of rats being intoxicated with organophosphates was determined fluorometrically. The MAO activity was measured manometrically in brain homogenates after in vitro and in vivo poisoning with organophosphates. No significant differences to control animals were found.

These results suggest that the organophosphate intoxication has no effect on the 5-HT metabolism of the brain.
