Zusammenfassung
Bei der genuin epileptischen Ratte konnte eine anlagebedingte Störung der Blut-Hirn-Schranken (BHS)-Permeabilität im Sinne einer Labilität der Schrankenfunktion nachgewiesen werden. Durch Abdichten der BHS ließ sich bei der Ratte die Krampfbereitschaft so verringern, daß ein Krampfanfall nicht mehr ausgelöst werden konnte. Die klinische Erfahrung zeigt, daß viele Epilepsien durch Maßnahmen, die im Tierversuch zu einer Schrankenabdichtung führen, günstig beeinflußt werden. Hieraus wird geschlossen, daß auch bei menschlichen Epilepsien die Permeabilität der BHS einen die Krampfbereitschaft mitbestimmenden Faktordarstellt.
