Abstract

A new type of oscillations, being long-period oscillations of line-of-sight velocities, with periods ranging from 42 to 82 min and amplitudes in excess of 200 m s-1 has been discovered in prominences. These oscillations may be interpreted as a combination of torsional and longitudinal ones.
