Abstract

A new calibration technique has been developed for the simultaneous measurement of the instantaneous velocity components in a three dimensional turbulent flow field by miniature pyramidoidal four-wire probes. The method was tested in the boundary layer of a wind tunnel by comparison measurements with X-wire probes. The results are very satisfactory and in good agreement with other experiments known from the literature.
