Abstract

Neonatal splenic rupture is relatively rare [4] and is usually associated with a traumatic delivery [3]. The clinical manifestation are those of hemorrhage and hypovolemic shock. We present two unusual cases of spontaneous neonatal splenic rupture whose initial clinical manifestation was a hematocele of the scrotal sac. The clinical presentation, diagnostic approach, and management of such cases is discussed with a review of the literature.
