Summary
A recombinant E. coli BL21[pET3a-T2M2] was cultivated in fed-batch cultures and cell mass increased to more than 70g/L. The volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient was estimated in a range of various fermentation parameters (agitation speed, oxygen flow rate and cell mass concentration) and finally the oxygen transfer correlation in bioreactor containing the recombinant E. coli cultures was determined as: kspla = 0.0195 (Pg/V)0.55 (Vs)0.64 (1+2.12X+0.20X2)−0.25.
