The use of a Coulter Counter to investigate a mixed culture of Pichia stipitis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Summary

In mixed cultures the biomass distribution has to be known for a good description of the system. The Coulter Counter is a fast and accurate method to distinguish cells that differ in size, such as P. Stipitis and S. Cerevisiae.
