Abstract
Phase-speed diagrams, showing the allowable spectrum of surface and body waves in a magnetically structured atmosphere, are constructed for the interface and the slab. The diagrams (illustrated for photospheric flux tubes, photosphere-chromosphere magnetic canopy, and coronal conditions) classify disturbances for both the normal modes of a structure and incident wave propagation on a structure, allowing a simple application once sufficiently detailed observations of waves become available.
