Summary

A computer based system is described for the storage and retrieval of information regarding the identification, origin, pedigrees, genotypes and phenotypes of Pisum lines. It is being used at present within the John Innes Institute for keeping detailed records of over 800 lines, but it is hoped that the general adoption of such a standardised system by all workers in the field will facilitate the interchange of information and data, and reduce unnecessary duplication in the maintenance of stocks.
