Additional information

In an earlier draft of this paper, I erroneously took for granted that Q-functions satisfying credal coherence and QCEU would secure a total ordering of all options in a classical decision problem. Teddy Seidenfeld pointed out the error. Howard Stein proved, however, that a partial ordering would be induced. The proof given here is a simplification of his original argument. In this critical respect, Stein is responsible for saving my partly baked idea from oblivion. He also attempted (I hope with success) to save me from intellectual indolence in many other ways. Thanks are also due to Stephen Spielman for drawing my attention to features of Kolmogoroff s discussion of conditional probability which I had overlooked.
