Abstract

Physiological anatomy of the choroidal vascular bed, based on the in vivo clinical and experimental fluorescein fundus angiographic studies, is reviewed. These studies have demonstrated that the posterior ciliary arteries (PCAs) and their branches right down to the terminal choroidal arterioles, the choriocapillaris, and the vortex veins have a segmental distribution in the choroid.
