The effect of some organic micronutrients on some marine algae from Alexandria

  • Published:
Hydrobiologia Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

  1. 1.

Vitamin B6 showed a rather remarkable increase in many amino acid groups in case of Ulva than in Dictyota and Pterocladia. Vitamin B12 showed a higher increase in dry weight of the algae than that caused by Vitamin B6. Both Vitamins showed less pronounced effect on reproduction.

  2. 2.

Treatment of algae with I.A.A. 5 mg/1 gave best results, especially with regard to zoospore formation in case of Ulva, while higher concentrations were inhibitory.

  3. 3.

The effect of algal extract was remarkable only on algal growth but it was less pronounced on algal reproduction.

Zusammenfassung

  1. 1.
