Abstract

A new species of Chonopeltis (Crustacea: Branchiura), C. koki n. sp., which parasitises the cyprinid fish Labeo cylindricus Peters, 1852 and displays a pigmentation pattern corresponding to the skin coloration of its host, is described from the Zambesi River in the eastern Caprivi, Namibia. The anatomical terminology of the genus is discussed.
