Abstract
Single-cell protein from lignocellulose biomass presents forthcoming technology aimed at providing protein supplement for both animal feed and human food. Lignocellulosic biomass does not compete with feedstocks used for human food and presents a readily available feedstock for microbial bioconversion. General considerations on the use of lignocellulosic residues are presented in this chapter.
