Abstract
Translation technology has become a working tool and therefore susceptible to be easily adapted to the professional setting of translators, but several factors, such as complexity of use, economic reasons or expected performance question whether this technology is fully at the service of the translator. Based on a survey carried out to a number of professional translators, this work highlights the peculiarities of this technology-dependent working environment, discusses the use of translation tools and provides data to illustrate the degree of integration of the IT environment for translators.
