Abstract
Noted historian of technology Melvin Kranzberg (1986) once remarked that while technology is neither good nor bad, it is also not neutral. Unfortunately, the use of educational technologies in teacher education has often been framed in an inherently positive way (Selwyn, 2011), with little attention paid to how future teachers might develop a sense of technology beyond a specific device.
