Abstract
This paper describes some issues in the design, development, and production of a number of teaching and learning materials and their implications for environmental science curricula, school science textbooks, and web-based/ICT applications. Our research team is experienced (Plakitsi, 2008, 2010) in writing school science textbooks and in constructing web-based applications for the first grades from an inquiring and a sociocognitive perspective.
