Abstract
The Digital Revolution that took place in the past 30 years has had and continuous to have a major impact on our lives. The introduction of personal computers in the 1980s, the Internet in the 1990s, smartphones in 2000–2010, and social networking since 2005 has caused changes in the way we live our lives and work that can only be compared to the effects of the Industrial Revolution. In this chapter, the developments of the development and implementation of information and communication technology (ICT) will be described briefly, as well as the impact it has on our quality of working life. Data from five countries will be used to examine the impact of ICT on intensification and satisfaction of employees in these five countries.
