Abstract
The full-time, residential MBA program at Ohio University is delivered using a problem-based learning (PBL) pedagogy. This article addresses the delivery of the targeted accounting competencies in that program. The principles and techniques outlined herein are also being used, on a modified basis, to deliver an elementary accounting course in the undergraduate program.
“It is in fact nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for this delicate little plant, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom; without this it goes to wrack and ruin without fail.” Albert Einstein (Quoted from the preface of Freedom to Learn)
