Energetics of Feeding and Digestion

  • Chapter
Fish Energetics

Abstract

During the last 25 years, the literature on energetics of feeding and digestion in fish has grown rapidly and much has been summarized in several reviews (Ricker, 1946; Barrington, 1957; Winberg, 1961; Warren & Davies, 1967; Windell, 1967; Kapoor et al., 1975; Fänge & Grove, 1979). This chapter, however, concentrates on new, neglected and/or inadequately covered aspects of energetics of feeding and digestion.
